COVID-19 Update as of 3-23-2020
In an effort to maintain social distancing we are closing PLAYGROUNDS, PARK RESTROOMS, and WATER FOUNTAINS, and they will remain closed until further notice. BASKETBALL COURTS will be restricted to individual use only. Games and close contact are not allowed, but people practicing safe social distancing (6 feet of separation), may use the court together.
Open space and trails are still open to the public, and we encourage you to enjoy them while practicing social distancing (6 feet of separation).
Thank you for your understanding, and we will continue to provide updates as we have them.
COVID-19 Update as of 3-13-2020
City of Lexington officials are committed to take proactive measures to help educate, prevent and slow the spread of COVID-19 within the community and the city workforce. As a result of these recommendations, ALL RECREATIONAL PROGRAMMING, EVENTS, AND ATHLETICS HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. This is being done to ensure public health and safety, and to help mitigate any potential spread of the virus through our community or workforce.
This will go into effect on Monday March 16th, and continue through May 15th. The situation regarding COVID-19 is frequently changing, and will be continually evaluating all of our activities and updating the status of our programming as often as possible.
If you are currently enrolled in a program, or signed up for an event, we will be in contact with you next week with additional details. At this time parks will remain open for people to utilize and enjoy, and shelter rentals will not be affected. We will be looking at other ways to provide recreational opportunities through our social media during this time (@lexparksandrec).
